Effective
AirMill rents portable climate control equipment to job sites in Charleston, South Carolina and Tampa Bay, Florida. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers airmillac.com and the way we handle enquiries that come to us by phone or email.
Notice at collection
California requires that we tell you, at or before the point of collection, what we collect and why. Here it is in full.
| Category | What that means here | Why we collect it | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Your name, phone number, email address, and job site address — but only if you call or email us. The website has no forms and collects none of this on its own. | To answer your enquiry and quote and service a rental. | For the life of the business relationship, then as long as needed for tax and warranty records. |
| Internet or network activity | Pages viewed, referring site, device type, browser, and operating system. | Analytics, and only if you opt in. Off by default. | Retained by Vercel on its standard analytics schedule. Not stored by AirMill. |
| Identifiers and network activity (strictly necessary) | IP address, user agent, and request time in our host's server logs. | To deliver the site, diagnose faults, and defend against abuse. | Vercel's standard log retention schedule. |
| Approximate geolocation | Country or region inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation. | Analytics, and only if you opt in. | Same as analytics, above. |
| Commercial information | Rental history, equipment placed, service visits, and invoices, for customers. | To provide and bill for the service. | As required for tax and accounting records. |
What we do not collect
We do not collect sensitive personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines it — no government identifiers, no financial account credentials, no precise geolocation, no racial or ethnic origin, no religious beliefs, no union membership, no contents of your mail or messages, no genetic, biometric, or health data, and no neural data.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. We have no reason to and do not market to minors.
We use no automated decisionmaking technology and do no profiling. No decision about you is made by a machine.
We do not sell or share your information
AirMill has not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months, and does not do so now. “Sell” and “share” carry the broad meanings given to them by the California Consumer Privacy Act, including disclosure for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do no behavioral advertising and run no advertising trackers.
We disclose personal information only to service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and only for the purposes above:
- Vercel — website hosting and, if you opt in, web analytics.
- Our email and phone providers — to receive and answer your enquiry.
- Our accounting and payment providers — to invoice and collect payment from customers.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the following rights. We extend them to everyone who contacts us, wherever you live, because maintaining two standards would be worse for you and no simpler for us.
- Know and access. Ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to. You may request a copy, portable where technically feasible.
- Delete. Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to the exceptions the statute allows — for example, records we must keep for tax purposes.
- Correct. Ask us to fix personal information about you that is inaccurate.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share, so there is nothing to opt out of. The analytics control below goes further than the law requires.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information. We collect none, so this right has nothing to operate on.
- Non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lesser quality of service because you exercised any of these rights. Declining analytics changes nothing about the site or the service you get.
Opt-out preference signals and Do Not Track
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or an extension sends it, we treat it as a validly exercised opt-out: analytics are never loaded, and we do not show you the privacy banner asking you to reconsider. The signal takes precedence over any choice previously recorded on your device.
We also honor Do Not Track. California law requires websites to disclose how they respond to a Do Not Track signal, and many sites answer that they ignore it. We do not. If your browser sends Do Not Track, we treat it exactly as we treat Global Privacy Control: analytics never load and you are not prompted.
No third party collects personally identifiable information about you across different websites through this site. We run no advertising networks, no social media pixels, no session recording, no chat widgets, and no cross-site trackers of any kind.
Because we process the signal in your browser rather than against an account, we apply it to the browser sending it, and we do not attempt to link it to you as an individual.
How to exercise your rights
Email joe@airmillac.com with the subject line “Privacy Request”, or call (843) 212-7090. Tell us which right you want to exercise.
We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may take up to 45 additional days.
Verification. Before we act on a request to know, delete, or correct, we need to be reasonably sure you are who you say you are. Since our records are organised around rental enquiries, we will usually ask you to confirm details already in them — the phone number or email address you contacted us from, and the job site in question. We will not ask you for a government identifier, and we will not use anything you provide for verification for any other purpose.
Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent. We will ask for written permission signed by you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly, as the regulations permit.
There is no charge for these requests, and exercising a right never affects your service.
Security and retention
We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as long as tax and accounting law requires, whichever is longer. The site is served over HTTPS. We are a small business and our security measures are proportionate to that — we hold little data precisely so that there is little to lose.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once every twelve months, as California requires. If we change it materially, we will update the effective date at the top and, where the change affects choices you have already made, ask you again.
