Cookie Policy
Effective
This policy explains what AirMill stores on your device when you visit airmillac.com, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
- AirMill sets no cookies. Not for advertising, not for analytics, not for anything else.
- We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
- Analytics are off until you turn them on, and they are cookieless even then.
- We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, analytics stay off and we do not ask.
- No third party tracks you across sites from here. No ad networks, no social pixels, no session recording, no chat widgets.
What we store on your device
One item, and only after you interact with the privacy banner:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
airmill-privacy-choice | Local storage (not a cookie) | Records whether you allowed or declined analytics, so you are not asked again on every visit. | Until you clear your browser storage or change your choice |
This is a strictly necessary item: it exists only to carry out your own privacy decision. It contains the word accepted or declined and nothing else. It holds no identifier, and it is never transmitted off your device.
Analytics (optional, off by default)
If you select Allow Analytics, we load Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage. It records the page you viewed, the referring site, your approximate country, and your device type, browser, and operating system.
Vercel derives a rotating hash from request data to distinguish one visit from another. That hash is not stored on your device, is not tied to your name or email, and cannot be used to identify you across other websites.
If you decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the analytics script is never loaded at all. This is not a setting we apply after the fact — the code simply does not run.
Things that happen regardless
Two things are part of delivering the site and cannot be switched off without breaking it. Neither involves cookies.
- Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records your IP address, browser user agent, and the time of your request. These logs exist to deliver the site, diagnose faults, and defend against abuse. They are retained on Vercel's standard schedule and are not used to build a profile of you.
- Live weather data. The live conditions panel on our home page requests current observations directly from
api.weather.gov, a United States National Weather Service system. Because your browser makes that request itself, the National Weather Service receives your IP address. AirMill does not control that service and receives nothing from it about you. No cookies are set by this request.
Our fonts are self-hosted and served from our own domain, so visiting this site sends no request to Google Fonts or any other font service.
Changing your mind
You can change your analytics choice at any time. It takes effect immediately.
You can also set Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser or via an extension. We treat either signal as a valid opt-out, and either overrides any choice previously recorded on this device. Clearing your browser storage also resets your choice, and analytics return to off until you opt in again.
